Sry I wasn't there at the last race, wish I could have been, had to check on a job in Kentucky of all places,,, gotta go where the money is ya know.
Bummed me out, looks like I'm going to have a heck of a time getting the top five now. But I will try... I'll be there Saturday.
and by the way, I am going to miss racing with you guys next season. Don't think I can handle another year of leaving good beer drinking party's to race. LOL
FatFreddy is right Lepage, you ran a heck of a league here, I can only hope the next league I get in is ANY night but Saturday night and the drivers are as good as you guys are.... I've learned a lot from all of you....
Last Race
Re: Last Race
I second some of Novall's thoughts. Have you thought about changing the night? Maybe racing Sunday night and leaving practice for Saturday or some other night.
I also think that a driver should be allowed to miss X (maybe 4) amount of races during the season and not be penalized because he/she couldn't make it every Saturday night for basically 31 straight weeks. This way you take the best 27 of 31 races and the 4 races that a driver couldn't make it could be dropped. I know you give 50 points to every active driver that doesn't make it, but I also think it may be dis-interesting if a player is out of Championship Contention because he wanted to take his wife to movie for example. There's a big difference between 50 and 180.
I have some other thoughts, but I will post them later.
What do others think?
Thanks
Will

good ideas guys
I think it's a great idea...in fact it was already in my new points system for next year, along with some other new features. I planned on taking the 25 best races and counting those. We will likely have a 31 to 32 race schedule so I felt 25 races was fair enough. If I do not do this, I will probably attach a driver who does not come to a race at the tail of the field. For instance if there are 11 guys in a race and a couple guys do not come, they will both receive a 12th-place finish and 12th-place points. Both systems are reasonably fair to miss a few races.
and Novall you are in luck...next year we will have 2 divisions, NBS and CUP. I hope this is good for camry too, I am usually away on Sunday nights and there is little or no chance we will be racing then. NBS replaces the current practice time at Friday. I am scrapping practice partly because not many guys were going to it in the first place, usually only 3 or 4...but then we would see like 11 guys in a race, lol. But I will try to host practices on weekdays, announcing them day-by-day but not in a regular schedule. Nice guys like fatfreddy and Skoty Speed are often willing to practice with drivers at random times during any day, just download Yahoo messenger and ask them sometime in a race for their screen name info if they want to give it to you.
CUP remains on Saturday like we are now. I guess you didn't see the "NHRL 2003" post and its updates. Keep an eye on the forum over the next three weeks, I will be releasing a series of posts describing our 2003 plans and the new site changes.
How do we have enough drivers? Well for starters I have about 15 extra guys signed up for next year...and there may be more.
Thanks for the comments guys...feel free to offer opinions on what changes you would like to see. There are a few concrete rules that will stay the same for next year like race length, wear, and game modes, but other than that everything is up for consideration.
I have enjoyed racing with all of you guys this year, I am disappointed a few distracting drivers caused a little ruckuss in the middle of the year, but their removal left the best league drivers remaining and despite the smaller fields the races lately have been better.
I have a pre-season 2003 roster for NBS and CUP and unless you still cannot race, I will put both camry and novall on there. You two will be threats for the championship in that division for sure. The NBS Series will be its own series, I am allowing the top-5 in this year's points to move to CUP (unless it is a bad night for you of course) and also race in NBS at once...but for me personally I will probably do 3/5 of the schedule with you guys.
cya next week just leave some ideas on the forum if you would like thx
