Updating Nascar Heat

Im a rookie. So like all Rookies i need help. I have downloaded all the downloads for Nascar Heat. Now what do i do in order to change the game? Do i copy a file and paste it somewhere? If you can help hit me up. But please word it so a dummy can understand it!!! I know im a Mechanic and i play online but the simple things kills me.

Are you running essentials or do you have the disk?

Most mods have their own install file they go to their own sub-folder in the NASCAR Heat folder...
There are differences between the actual game "disk" and Essentials as reef pointed out that can change your install method...
