well even though my game said i was patched to 1.5, i went ahead and d/l 1.1 patch, then i d/l the 1.80 patch and pooof, i can run the game without the cd. so it looks like that problem is solved i still cannot drive yet because when i hit the button for controls, the screen goes screwy. its a big g...
