Online Warping

Post by Reef »

During Atlanta practice, I discovered that I was warping badly on the start/finish line, as well as jumping the start thus receiving a black flag. After trying this and that, I found that running my game thru Mod Launcher was causing the warp. I took all of my mod .exe files and moved them to the desktop; warping stopped.
This may work for you, it may not. It did for me. Just passin on some info for yas to try if you have a warping issue.

This is applying to all three mods but the biggest problems we are see are in the truck series. At Atlanta for example retroracer qualified 5th but on the inital start his truck jumped the grid and put him on the pole and every start after that it put him in third place. Not to mention all the problems it was causing for the people in the back of field (from a standing start, to receiving damage on the grid.) These are the type of things we need to get worked out now so we can keep the large fields and have some fun racing.

So with that said: From now on if your truck/car is seen causing grid problems on the connection test or any practice sessions by the admin you are going to have to start in the back (provisional) with NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Hmmmmm,..could the mod launcher be causing a warping problem or a starting grid problem?

i think my lack of knowledge about this stuff is pretty well known.

however, when i had my mechanical meltdowns last year that got so bad i came really really close to just giving up online racing forever, i narrowed the list down to 3 things that it could have been at that time because i had just started using them

1. ventrillo
2. weekly racing series mod
3. mod launcher

now that i completely reformatted that pc and my warping issues appear to be solved, i think you guys might be on to something about the mod launcher.

because i did start using ventrillo again and havent had any problems, and i also have downloaded and toyed with more mods than ever, and none seem to give me any problems at all.

i would strongly suggest to anyone with warping problems to get rid of mod launcher....

then again, i dont know too much about this stuff other than i once had the problems and now dont..... and the only thing i am doing different now is that i dont have mod launcher. its all makes so much sense now..... maybe i am becomming an expert....

I would recommend that everyone re-download the cts mod, so we all know that we are on the same page so to speak, and refrain from using mod launcher for league practices and races.
Just a thought.
