ok guys i painted a new truck and now im trying to get it into the game... i downloaded restools but when i try to run mktex the window will only stay open for a second then it closes by itself. im kinda stumped on this, all im trying to do is convert a tga file to a tex file. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks adam

download ModLauncher 2: SAKE, its over at www.themodsquad.uni.cc

Then under installers there is an option to install a tga file, and it will auto-convert into a tex.

thanks j2, when i try that, it says something about saving it in 24 bit something or other. any ideas how to fix it?

yea, in your paint program, i.e. Paint Shop Pro because thats the only program I have ever used, there should be when you save, a "options" box in the save dialouge box, make sure you have the file type as a .tga file in the box, and below that there should be an option to save as a Uncompressed 24bit TGA, thats what you want.

tried that j2, saved it the right way and everything but its still not working right. i'll just send the file to someone and have it finished, i cant figure it out lol

There is a good program for this called winrestools wizard. It does everything to do with heat, but I just use it for coverting tga's to tex files. When I get home from the academy on friday night, I'll send you the link if I remember it.

thanks guys im gonna try that now
