Subs should only be for things like weddings and funerals and stuff that peeps aren't gonna plan around a guys internet racing league. LOL

Not to be abused. Only two races I missed this year, well three really cup and cts in same night for a wedding, and a sunday night busch race for Skins Eagles game. Darn Eagles! lol

1) what about Military deployments? i will always go on 2-3 military deployments during the season each season (always do and always miss races). that's 3 subs needed here
2) what about attending real Nascar events? (I have been averaging about 2 Nextel Cup races per year) I usually go to the Daytona 500 (so I start off each season with a SUB) and then I usually go to the Pepsi 400 or one of the Tally races. in 2006 i plan to attend one of the Atlanta races as well. so in other words ... that's possibly 3 subs needed just in this catagory alone.
3) then i agree with the wedding, funeral, reasons..... but don't forget about the bachlor party, your best friends birthday, your best girl's birthday, your favorite football game or baseball game, your wedding anniversary, Valentine's Day, Family Reunions (in the summer), that spur of the moment hot-date (with a chick you never thought would ask ya out) etc etc etc...... the list continues!

** each season I miss about 10 or more saturday night races. as you can see the list above accounts for about all of them. this season we were allowed 6 subs. i expended all 6 of mine.... and then quit asking for subs.... or just took a DNS.
although sunday racing worked well for me. i only missed 2 races i think..... and i was at Daytona for the first one and Talladega for the second one.
Subs are needed..... people have things to do. trust me.... i would rather race half the time.... but ya got to climb out of that cave some time. lol

What are subs for?

Post by rookiesrock8 »

I believe that the sub clause was added for those that can't make a few races and could still be in the championship hunt. Eaglekeeper I really don't know how you conjure up these thoughts. Looking at your schedule I would say you will be running a limited schedule and will have no chance of winning a series your in. The substitute provision wasn't made for drivers like you (or me for that matter). I will be making BGN and CUP races but have no chance or do I expect to be in the hunt. I wish I could just show up whenever I can and be right up top. That doesnt happen in the real world and that shouldn't happen here.

well...here's my sub input...

i think there should be a 3 sub cap, on subs that are outside of a team... you figure, if your in a team, most likely your teammate will be in that race.. but if he isn't, i think he should be able to sub for you as a teammate....

ex: say i only ran trucks next year and duster only ran cup... if duster couldn't make the cup race for w/e reason.. i think i should be able to sub for him as a teammate and not get it counted as being a "sub"

...someone please tell me they know what i'm talking about...lol

EK, as far as the bachlor party etc that you asked about that's why I left that an open ended statement. Just used wedding and funerals as two examples. lol.

subs

Personal life has to come first, that means your wife ( and girlfriend hehe ) kids, parents, and friends. I have no problem with guys missing a race for a party, family function, work, illness, pc problems or just a weekend vacation.

I missed one race last season because I had to host a combat flight match, but I had asked for a sub, not necassarly for me, but to make a fuller field for you guys.

I prefer that on these occasions that you get a sub driver, to keep the fields as large as possible for those who show up.

Pick a weekend for your vacation when we run a track you hate, I don't care, get a sub. That track may be one of my favorites and I would like to see a large field there for me to whoop up on!

THIS IS ONLY A GAME! Take care of your personl life first!
