Anyway just wanted to ask, kind of off subject but i'd figured i'd ask to see if anybody can help. My regular computer is gonna take a bit to get fixed, fixed then upgraded for next years season. So i have been using this old dinosaur computer. It's one that someone gave me. Anyway, it's Windows 98 Second Edition. For any controllers or wheels to work i need a Windows 98 SE disc. Does anybody know how to bypass this? Any help will be appreciated. If i need that particular disc, i might be able to get my hands on it. Thanks.

Petty do you have your wheels software that came with it?? How about trying to upgrade to windows 2005 or better? The system that you are having fixed what windows platform are you running on that system? If you have the windows Cd for the system that you are having fixed, use that system's cd to upgrade your "old dinosaur computer", so u can race with it.

Hey, petty.

Careful what you spend to fix/upgrade that computer. computer prices are really low right now. Decent computers at best buy are running around $500. These are very decent dual processor computers. That's the whole package price with a 17" flat screen and printer!

All they'd need is an inexpensive video card, and you'd be up and running at about $600. Reason I say this is for you to watch that you don't spend that much anyway, and end up with still less machine than you can get at bestbuy or somewhere.

The "good" computer is a skeleton computer. Just a motherboard i bought, and have a AMD Atholon XP processor 3000+ onboard. In the Heat game says i have 1650. I am running Windows Operating System Millenium, which from what i read is good for online gaming. Really i like Millenium, i've never had any issues with it myself.
For the Dinosaur...I have the discs to install, it downloads but then it asks for the 98 disc so therefore, it does not read the device, and will not let you calibrate. It's Crap i tell you! Crap! Heh Heh. I've looked into the new computers, and i really havent made a decision on what to do yet. I'm going to take my time, find the best deal, shop around a bit getting geared up for NHRL 2008 Season. I've been working out of town lately so I haven't had the time to shop and look around just of late. Thanks for the help guys.

Well, I would like to thank DaveO for helping me with the "dinosaur". I got my good system upgraded and updated so im ready to go now. Again thanks to all that left replies to help me Xpecially DaveO who spent quite a bit of time with me, and for getting me thru this rut which he smoothed out for me. Again THANKS DAVEO!!!
