HI res

Post by Stick77 »

I know i should ask the guys at masgrafx, but the forum wont let me start a new topic over there or post. So, i cannot seem to open any car files that are HI RES, in PSP 9. Is it something with my settings. Before i had to re-install PSP there was no problem opening these?

It may have something to do with your memory. Do you see anything that says "Virtual Memory Minimum too low"?
If you do, try turning some things off running in the background. I get that prob when trying to resize from 2048x2048

Sry, not to change the subject, but since you're talking about painting, are there any paint programs out there that you painters are using that has a free version? If so, can you tell me best place to get one? :worm:

back to the topic at hand.

Stick, those high-res car paints at masgrafx are NR2003 .car files. Those are a compressed file containing the car paint, the crew paint, and some other stuff.

There is a way to extract the paint job from the .car file.

One, you can load the car into the game and use the export function, which usually looks like crap,

Or you can use a program called winmip to get it out of there looking clean n green.

PM me and I'll set you up.

BMX, No! don't ask! lol.

Guys, I just gave Gimp a second try, to see if I could endorse it as a viable free paint program, and I just can't.

It wouldn't open psp files, and a lot of stuff I did to paints in photoshop just wasnt supported, so gimp just ommited that stuff.

I guess you get what you pay for.

Sorry I didn't have better news.
