Help Installing Heat

Post by d3efan »

Since I have new hardware, I re-installed Windows XP and so I have to re-install heat. I've tried it once now and cannot find anywhere (like it used to be) the option to enable hardcore mode in the options folder. Was that part of a patch? I downloaded and installed the 2 patches on the website (still didn't see the option) but don't we also need the 1.5 patch too?

What I need to know is what are the barebones patches we need, starting from scratch. Thanks.

Also, TTR guys e-mail me please as I didn't save any addy's.

Theres two way you can go with instalation.

1- install heat and add patches 1.1 and 1.80 and the Nocd patch

or

2- install heat and add the all in one patch found here.... http://www.racepainter.com/main/patches/patches.html

All u should need is the 1.1 and 1.80 patches, as far as the hardcore mode:
In your options.cfg file, under the [Global] header, look for the line: hardcore_enabled yes, if it says no, change it to yes.

That will do it.

I use the same options file in every series. Don't forget to recalbrate your wheel from inside the game. This config is for a momo using the buttons to shift.

Thanks man. I, of course, have a Thomas. And you are a great example of why it doesn't realy matter what kind of wheel you have. I sat and watched the "late" great Tommy Dubs, and he had a momo too. My stuff is up and working so I expect to see yas at the next truck event.
