My Custom Sim Cockpit
My Custom Sim Cockpit
Hello everyone,
In the last week me and my grandfather spent sometime building a custom sim cockpit for me out of wood. This took about 3 days to put together (12 hours ish) and 6 days in total for 2 coats of paint and 2 coats of laquer. The wood and paint and laquer cost about 150 USD and the Seat (John Deere Tractor) about 70 USD.
Tools needed/suggested: Skillsaw, JigSaw, Paint brushes, bolts, screws, a drill.
The cockpit is about 4 feet long and 2 wide (will need to check these measurments)
If anyone wants to know how to make this just PM me and I'll try and help you with the blueprints.

Looks clean and sturdy, and gets the job done, that's for sure. It's obvious that your Grandfather is a good craftsman. You mowing his lawn all summer to pay him back? It'd be funny if he reads this and wants the grass cut, lol.
You should do his handiwork some justice by straightening up those wires.

Cute! You're my step son's size, and he's about the same age. If it were plastic, it'd look like something from Little Tikes. Seriously I hope you appreciate the work he put into it. It's nice.

Hey now! I put just as many hours into as my grandfather has . I painted, cut, held, designed (in 3d first), thanks for the comment guys it works out nicely but is a bit hard for heel and toe on RC's guess I'll have to relearn

Re: My Custom Sim Cockpit
In all fairness, The kid's 13 or so! He spent the weekend with his grandpop making a cockpit, and I'm sure he was proud of it, and wanted to show it off. I thought it was pretty good craftsmanship on his granfather's part. They painted it and such so it didn't look like an eyesore, and would compliment his room.
Those of you who make fun of a 12y/o's project like that really need to get a grip. Even if it did look like crap, which IMHO it doesn't, why would you poke so many jabs at it like that.
Get a grip people..... Geez!
