Their fans are retarded and the worst in baseball.
Their stadium, two years old, is bye far the biggest joke in baseball. It has less foul territory room that 100 year old Wrigley, the bullpen area has had two door/roof collapses, the dimensions are a joke, it has this stupid cut out in right, and half the time that stupid apple thing doesn't even work when they manage to hit a homerun.
They overpaid Jason Bay

They try to be like Jimmy Rollins and say "they're the team to beat" yet not even come close to a playoff spot
Angel Pagan does their trash talking. Yea Angel who?

They give away their pitching future for a guy who has needed two elbow surgeries and gave up a bases loaded walk to 48 year old Jamie Moyer.
They steal their colors and logos from the Giants and Dodgers.
They allowed their former GM to do nothing for their team and confirmed his only goal was to get as many Hispanic players into the game as possible.
The use injuries as an excuse for their terrible season in '09. Yet the Phillies had more players in the DL in '10 yet finished with 97 wins.
They're from that shithole state of New York.
Over 8 people died in their old stadium falling down the gigantic holes in the escalator shafts.
Their players beat their girlfriends 70 year old dad.
Family guy makes fun of them.

Some think all professional athletes are overpaid. IMO it's all jealousy. If someone offered you millions of dollars to play a game ur good at, would you turn it down? I know I wouldn't.

I agree. Same with Bill Gates, and the creators of items we use day in and day out. They aren't overpaid. They are either really good at what they do (sports), or have spent their lives working on an invention, and have made millions off it. And some people think that they should be getting the same as day to day workers. I don't know any day to day workers that have invented stuff that is so useful, that even people in other countries are using it. Anyway, I agree with you Bov. They aren't getting paid. They worked hard to get to where the were. (Well, most athletes and inventors... But that is another story.)

It's called a free market. Has worked better than any other economy in history. It's the federal government we pay too much. You get that job on a popularity contest, and you don't even have to be any good at it. At least athletes have risks that could end their career and break them. Kick in the butt about voting a federal politician out is we're still paying him his salary, special medical care, and other perks the rest of his life......
