I don't know what to say wild. If you're unsure what you're doing, taking apart wheels and messing with parts could probably be a pain in the ass. It's understanding money may be tight, but I would invest some money into getting a Logitech wheel. For myself personally, I'm running on a Wingman Formula Force. Nothing top notch, and a bit dated. However I'm only on my second since 2008, both used.
I've had my second for about a year now, used from ebay. It was in mint condition when I got it, and still works great. The Price varies at this point, but I know Amazon.com has some used ones for a great price compared to some other, higher up, logitech wheels.

i cant com-plane about the wheel i had it for more the 5 years and i got me really far i cant knock the wheel down at all it just got bet up in side but im coming up with a ide to fix it to where i can use it

No doubts its a good wheel. But when you get it damaged once and if its bad enough, it won't perform the same. So before using money to repair it I would make sure its worth repairing first. It might be comparable cost to even buy a new wheel if that part is rare enough.

Right now i cant get there because its under maintence. But at lfsforum.net theres someone selling a sidewinder for 5 dollars plus shipping. Its on the bottom section under hardware.
