Our opening 2014-15 Cup Series event is going to be a caution-flag exhibition race. While it's not a points race, we'd prefer everyone to attend if possible, as if it were any other regular season race. Along with Jes Rathbun, our caution-flag official, we're going to explain the league's new caution flag rules and policies. Most of them are similar to the methods Jes applies in his leagues, Hardcore Motorports, with a couple of important changes here and there.
Here are the most important points to remember. Most of the rest is straightforward to learn and understand:
Also, Jes and I have thought of a couple of additional things that we'll look at in the opening test race.lepage71 wrote:Under caution, lead-lap drivers and lapped-down drivers pit together
Just one laps-down driver can receive the free lap pass during each caution flag
No caution flags can be thrown or requested in the final 10% of the race (92 laps x 10% ~ 9 laps)
Laps-down drivers may receive a "wave around" lap back if they elect not to pit during a caution and end up in front of the leader before the restart
Late in the year, we held a very productive first caution-flag test race at Atlanta. You can read some of the information about that race in these threads:

For those unfamiliar with cautions, all drivers need to install Ventrilo and sign into our server prior to the race. Here are our Ventrilo server login details:
