Winter Welcome

Post by lepage71 »

The NASCAR Heat Racing League is thrilled to announce its second Signature Event, the Winter Welcome.

The next event will occur on Friday, December 21 at 9:00 PM ET and consist of 10 rapid-fire, shootout-style races in the Super Heat Modified series. In total, the event will feature around 150 laps on some of the newest, smallest, and most popular short tracks from The Mod Squad and elsewhere. The second event will also have some unique rules and logistics, like field inversions for each race. Participants are required to connect to our Ventrilo server for the event.

Please feel free to ask questions about the event. We'll also be posting some final details as we get closer to the date.

NHRL Signature Events are an ongoing, season-less series of special exhibition races conducted at alternative courses in non-league-series mods. In some cases, the rules, formats, or other particularities may also differ significantly from standard league activities. The possibilities for NHRL Signature Events are truly limitless, so we invite members of the general community to join the discussion on our forum and take an active role in shaping their ever-evolving schedule.

On the tracks download page, if you click on Winter Welcome or Caraway is sends you to the Monaco2 track on TheModSquad. Also when you click on NashvilleFGNite it takes you to some random Japanese website.

Lastly, wanted to just put in a little request for a base setup to work off of. Would be nice for those who do not have the time to make a setup for each of the 10 tracks. Thanks! :thumbsup

We've fixed the link for Caraway that previously went to Monaco. Is the SpeedSims website down? That's where the Nashville link points.

Right now, I'm traveling, but when I get back, I'm hoping to build a base setup for the Winter Welcome. However, if someone wants to beat me to it, then please feel free to post one. I've got a few other things, like the Holiday Derby, to get organized so that would be helpful. I know a bunch of us should have some short track setups for the Super Heat Modified series that date back to the ARL league.

Also, as a general reminder to all, you CAN upload your custom tex files for Signature Events. Log onto the website and go to this page: http://nascarheatracingleague.com/account/paints/. Let me know if you need me to create a new website account for you.

We've finalized the remaining details for the Winter Welcome.

You can now find the official track order and lap counts on the website: http://nascarheatracingleague.com/event ... =0&event=2. Please also note, we've replaced Lanier with Rebel Raceway, which you can download here: http://www.themodsquad.info/index.php?a ... w;down=167.

We've posted a base setup in the Setups & Strategies section of the forum. It should handle well at most of the tracks in the rotation for the event. You might, however, want to consider adjusting the gears from track to track, since their sizing varies from around 0.4 to 0.7 miles.

Overall, the Winter Welcome is shaping up to be quite the thriller. See everyone on Friday! 8)
