A Q 4 U

Post by Viagra6Car »

This is going to be something completely new to me. I'm looking for a way to create tracks for heat. I have no idea about what programs I need and if there are files to go along with it. If you guys know, wow that would be awesome

I was trying to figure it out myself, your gonna need a 3d modeler program to configure the tracks then use mkworld or one of those heat tools to convert it into a heat track. Or you can just take a track from another existing game and use a hex editor and try to figure its configuration out then convert it into a heat track. What I wanted to do was take tracks form this old CART game since it had about 15 popular tracks that are not available for heat. Unfortunately its a non pc cd game and is run on a no longer used console. So far no one has been able to read the cd's and convert the files to something that can be emulated on a pc. It had tracks like Nazareth, Gateway International, Milwaukee Mile, Homestead Miami, Michigan, California, Long Beach, Detroit Street, Burke Lakeford Airport in Cleveland, Vancouver Street, Houston Street and more!!

It can be done

Well I was wrong you can read the files from the cd-roms of this no longer used console, I just don't have the tools to do so . If I did maybe I could have converted many of those tracks. I'll see if I can .

Here is a link to a free 3d modeling program since 3d studio max is so out of peoples price range at over a $1000.00. Its by the same people who make 3d max so users can edit games. Its been used to create mod worlds for quake 3 and new plane add-ons in microsoft flight simulators with great success.

I hear Homestead is going to add some banking to the track before the next race. Any plans to update the Heat track when you get the tools you need?
