Nextel Cup
Nextel Cup
This morning while I was heading to work I was able to see the Dupont Chevy in person. Never seen a Cup Stock Car in person and get to touch it before. It was sitting on the sidewalk in front of the Nasdaq building. One thing I did not realize was how small it was, maybe its just the fact that it is a showroom car or the heavy rain changed my viewpoint but it still surprised me how small it was, never realized Nascar stock cars were so regular size. They look so big on TV. There was a Hendrick motorsports truck near it also, cool stuff, alot of people taking pictures. If I new it was gonna be there I would have taken my crapola digital camera and gotton pics of inside the ride.
Re: Nextel Cup
Yeah they are pretty small...now imagine 6'5'' Michael Waltrip getting into one of those...thats one of the reasons they are considering the new greenhouse-type cars and aero package. It would expand the room for some of the larger drivers, good for safety, and also lessen aero push since they are less streamlined aerodynamically.
It is a change I would like to see, its a small change that puts just a little more of the race in the drivers hands, beneficial for "driver's drivers"...not some of the made-for-tv guys we have seen lately. lol
