Daytona Prep

Post by Viagra6Car »

So how fast are you guys without the draft? I haven't really tried to test this, but the pack might be all split up on Friday night. I think my average laptime single-car race setup is about 45.92, but I really think my setup is awesome in the draft, running the high or low line. What kind of speeds you guys puttin up?

If your talking cars you'll have to start fishing in the low 45.6's maybe even a .5 for the pole. For racing, a comfortable car in the 8's and 9's will be strong. I haven't raced with you guys but that's been my observation.

I bought yet another wheel (returned the one i had last week) and improved my laps at Daytona from low to mid 46's (the best i was doing) to 45.893.

And that's without changing anything in the setup to compensate for the new wheel. This wheel is so much steadier then my old on.

ef on the pole?

Post by efgordon »

i've worked at this q set for as much as i can take. 45.601 is the best i can get period. looks like i am going to need some luck to put this car on the front row. but thats ok, cause i will make loy allen jr. proud the way i will go from the front to the rear in 1/2 lap anyway ha!

good luck tonight all

Wow, Loy Allen Jr, that's a one hit wonder now isn't it, lol.

601 should be competitive for a front row spot and if not, 2nd row. Pole last season was 616 i think.

Gears???

Post by EagleKeeper »

man..... I've been running about the same Daytona setup for about 4 years now. I like how it handles.... but, I can't get a good Qualify going for nothing. All of the above times are smoking my best. Can anyone "honestly" fill me in on a killer Q and Race Gear? I think I may be running the wrong gears note: if you are willing to hook me up with some gear info.... but don't want everyone to know the ratio.... please email me @ tmraz25@hotmail.com
(4th and final being the most important)
Thanks.... Eagle
