Re: 2005 Series
How about this? Just make the Busch Series an Identical setup series. Everyone can keep their cars, and we would still run on tracks we are familiar with, but just with identical setups. As far as who makes the setups? Maybe we can make it so a few people make setups, drivers can download and try them, then we can take a vote on which setup to use.
Alright, shooting from the hip on the last option maybe...LOL

Re: 2005 Series
Identical setup series always sound good..... especially to guys that think they are losing because they don't have good setups. Everyone thinks that it will be cool.... and we will all be equal running the same setups. There was a dude names HicorySmoke that tried to make a league like this a couple years back.... and it was a flop.
The truth is.... we all have very different driving styles. and after years of learning your own setup and tweeking it to your style.... it becomes very difficult to drive someone else's setup. Trust me on this.... over the years.... I have traded setups with many guys that were faster than me. But.... when I would try their setup..... I couldn't drive it for nothing. Ask anyone. Here are a couple examples..... When TommyW first got started racing Heat.... I gave him all of my setups. He doesn't use any of them (can't drive them). Burner and Scrooluice both have all of my setups.... Yet.... they can't keep up with me while using them. I have downloaded many of the setups on the NHRL web page.... and a lot of them were actual race winning setups..... but to me... their trash.
It all comes back to the different driving styles. If we run an Identical setup league..... there are still going to be people finishing 1-4 laps down from the leader. Because.... some people are going to like the setup.... and others won't. Usually the person who creates and submitts the setup that we use as ID, will be the fastest guy. It's weird..... but ID sets just don't cut it. another example of identical setups not working well would be the IROC Richmond setup. It is way off of how i would set my car up. I can't drive it for nothing. Although Koolguy can pull .5's with ease .... i find myself pulling .9's. but, if i throw in my setup for Richmond that i created..... i can run .4's
ID setups in my opinion will not draw a full field of racers for the entire season

Re: 2005 Series
ditto
i subbed for fred at martinsville and he sent me his "easy money" winning setup that he won the last race with
i SWEAR i could not make it through one friggin lap
so i used my own and finished 2nd from the back
i still think he was pulling my leg with that dog he sent me

Re: 2005 Series
Paved late model It would be cool if the Busch Series was gotten rid of because then there would be 3 different series. It would be fun to run some short tracks and shorter races with it too .

Re: 2005 Series
If we were to use ID setups it would be the advanced setup in the game.
Re: 2005 Series
hell if that is the case..... mind as well run it in NORMAL realism and gain Dalimision and all of his boys that can't race HC

Re: 2005 Series
what's wrong with keeping the series as it is ? it's fun and competitive.everyone has all winter to tweak on them setups at diff tracks ..and testing is free..i've been testing at tracks where the mello yello team struggled alil at trying to get use to the new 2005 charger and making lil adjustments to my sets
Re: 2005 Series
not just speaking for myself but there are some tracks that people just can't set up a car on...which keeps them from racing on some nights. i know i could've ran dover and charlotte and a few other tracks last year but i'd have no chance of keeping up so i didn't even bother. if you want to keep the field size strong, identical is a good idea. i have a feeling people will change their mind after the iroc series
btw, i will be racing in 2005

Re: 2005 Series
If I stayed out of every race I didn't think I could keep up in,then I'd never be at a race lmao. I still say if Busch is dropped late models should be run I think that would be fun.
Re: 2005 Series
sure v6 use id sets then we have to play follow the leader at alot of tracks thats no fun ...spend a little more time and prac and tweak your set or don't bitch when ya can't keep up...how are ya going to get away from someone ?you have to have them up your butt the whole time and hope no-one wrecks ya...eagle's right you should just run normal mode then ....which i'm not a fan of. if busch goes to id sets i will choose to race in the cup and truck series only ...i am one of the ones that make it to every race so i think that my vote should count for something
