Brickyard is a 2.5-mile intermediate speedway with 4 corners and a 55 MPH speed limit on pit road. The league competed at Brickyard for the first time during the 2005 season. Since its league debut, the track has hosted 16 races in 3 series. As a long intermediate speedway, Brickyard features large straightaways and high speeds. Unlike most ovals, the course does not have an apron for entering pit road. Instead, when pitting, drivers must move left, slow to a safe speed, and enter pit road after clearing the final turn. When exiting, drivers use the small exit lane and merge onto the backstraight. Often times, drivers forget to remain left after merging and this is a frequent source of penalties. |
